Pushsafer App not working on Pixel 8

Since I switched from Pixel 5 to Pixel 8 I'm not able to start the app anymore. I tried already to reinstall and have the latest update.

After the login I got stuck on the loading screen.

Hi again,

The problem is not related to the latest Android version 14, rather I think there was a problem setting up your new device.

please follow these instructions:
1. Delete Pushsafer from your smartphone
2. Pushsafer website dashboard > delete device
3. Reinstall Pushsafer and register the device

After that it should work. If not, please send me your username so that I can investigate the problem further.

Hello, no it didn't work.

On step 2 I deleted my old device (Pixel 5) because the new one (Pixel 8) was never set up.

After starting the app after new installation I got ask about the notification. I confirmed that and again got stuck on the login with "Bitte warten...".

My username is piloly.

Please register you Pixel8 again, i will check our database.

But exactly that is the problem. I'm not able to register the Pixel 8.

If I click on the website to register a new device I get the QR code for Android Play Store. When I scan it I get to install the app. Than I authorize the notification and after I'm stuck on the screen i posted before with "Bitte warten...".

OK! Then we start the process all over again.
- delete Pushsafer from your Pixel 8
- reboot the device and install Pushsafer again

Please follow this instruction to add a guest device.
- go to the pushsafer website and login into your account
- go to your profile and scroll down to "Guest-Device + device name + group"
- now enter a name for your Pixel 8 and select a group if needed
- now open the pushsafer app and press the green button "Scan QR-Code" in the Register Guest-Device" section
- Scan the generated QR Code in your Pushsafer Profile

Thats all!!! Hope this helps.
If not, please register your device using the standard method (not a guest device) and enter your Pushsafer access data to log in.

That didn't help. But I found now the solution.

Uninstalling the app, reboot and reinstall it was not enough. Not sure why but I had to go to the app settings in Android and choose "Storage and cash" and clear the storage.

Normally the cache should be cleared when the app is deleted. This is really strange or an Android bug, I don't know.

But it's great that it works now!

Yes now it works. But it was not the cache but the storage.
