iOS answer field issues

Postby WuMing » 16. Mar 2026, 14:02

In the latest v3.6.1 version of the iOS app the answer field is quite small. The subheading informs it could be up to 256 characters long. But only 29 of them are visible. The first five words at the beginning of this text. I believe the answer field should be bigger to reflect actual useful space.

Then tried to copy and paste a long answer of mine. Paste fails without any error message. Trying to submit anyway results in an alert Please enter an answer.

Just tried on iPad with iPadOS 18 and one key difference is it asks permission to Paste before I am allowed to do so. Then it works.
On iPhone with iOS 15 instead permission request is absent and Paste fails.

Answer field remains restricted to one line of 29 characters on both of them.

More testing with iOS 15 showed a notification “Pushsafer pasted from <app>” whenever I copy text from, as example, Notes and switch back. It happens regardless of the Answer dialogue or messages list being shown. As mentioned before, copied text from another app then could not be pasted in the answer field.

If I type anything in the answer field and copy it instead it could be pasted back.

I assume my problem is connected with the previous thread “Icon change + problem with copy/pasting”.

Furthermore with iOS 15 typing some text into the Answer field, copying it, switching to a different app and back results in paste being not functional again. Even though after switching to another app again text can be successfully pasted.

It appears to be a problem of the app with clipboard access permissions on iOS 15 (and possibly below). Permission policy mechanism which was changed with iOS 16.
